Ads are important to all businesses and we see ads all the time not just on the internet but in print as well. With technology taking over our world, more and more businesses are spending more money towards online advertising than ever before. Google Ads in particular is a great way for businesses to reach more customers by having their ads placed on Google when people search for certain keywords that relate to their business or product. Online advertising is important because from a business perspective your main goal is to sell your product and by spending money on advertising you can reach more customers. Google is a widely used search engine so it is not surprising that many ads appear when we search for something on the internet.

The main idea behind Google Adwords is to get people to click on your ad and buy your product or use your service. One thing to keep in mind is the importance of keywords because with Google you want your ad to appear when people search for words relating to your product or service. The book, Introduction to Search Engine Marketing, offers a great explanation about keywords and Google. "The whole strategy of Google Ads is based on trying to figure out the best combination of words that people might type" (Kelsey). Below is an example of some ads that come up when I type in "best liquid foundation" in the search bar.
Just by searching for liquid foundation, different ads come up that allow me to easily buy the product which is the whole goal of online advertising. An important thing to know about Google Adwords is that anyone can create an account but you have to pay for your ad to be placed on Google. You can choose your own budget and can change it at anytime making it a great place to decide how much you should spend on advertising. The main idea is to get familiar with Google Adwords and try it out especially if you are looking for an easy way to reach more customers.
