Week 6-MKTG 3349- Expert Mode

Google Ads has many different features and ways to customize your ad and it's appearance. You can even switch your account from smart mode to expert mode for more advanced features. When you first create a Google Ad account it is important to remember that it will always be in smart mode, but you can later switch to expert mode to gain access to more features. Smart mode is beneficial for beginners because it walks you through the ad creation process and is relatively simple to use, while expert mode is recommend for marketing specialists because it requires complex management. While expert mode may seem challenging, it is great to try out.

Smart Mode vs. Expert mode:

Smart Mode is the simplest and fastest way to create an ad that supports your business goals. When you first create an ad in smart mode, the first thing you have to consider is what you want your ad to do. Some businesses may want to drive as much traffic as possible to their website while others may want to focus on increasing sales and only attracting people who are likely to buy from them. Whatever your business goal is, Google Ads will help guide you through the creation process and will use optimized keywords that it recommends to help your ad achieve your goal. It requires little management, and according to Google, your keywords will even be updated and maintained over time making it perfect for busy business owners.

Expert mode is different from smart mode because it gives you more control of your ad and allows you to create different ad types. In expert mode you can create display campaigns, search campaigns, video campaigns, app campaigns, and even shopping campaigns. With expert mode you choose your own keywords, set your own budget, and manage more details of your ad. What I like about expert mode is that it gives you more control over you ad and allows you to choose your own images to use in your ad, below is an example of an ad campaign I created in expert mode. One important thing to remember about expert mode is that it requires more management and requires you to monitor your ads progress to look for ways to improve your ad.
