Week 9-MKTG 3349-Keywords Research

Keywords have a lot to do with how well your ad performs and can make a difference in how many high quality users your ad attracts. Having the right keywords for your ad ensures your ad is reaching the right people, which means that your ad is getting to those that are most likely to buy your product or use your service. To make your ad more successful, it is important to conduct your own research and see what keywords are out there that relate to your businesses and industry and what those keywords can do in terms of attracting more website visitors and customers.

Keywords Research:

To get started with keyword research all you have to do is search for keywords that relate to your business on Google or any other search engine. Looking online for keywords businesses similar to yours use for their ads is helpful because it can tell you what keywords people are mostly using to search for that particular business. The easiest way to search for keywords is to type in the search bar "top keywords" or "Adwords top keywords" for whatever business or service you want to see keywords for. Knowing what keywords people are using and what the estimated search traffic is, is beneficial because it can help you decide what keywords to include in your ad to attract the most people. For example, by searching for "Adwords top keywords for Chiropractors", a whole bunch of relevant results came up. Below is a screenshot of the top keywords people use when searching for Chiropractors.

What is cool about doing keyword research is that you can see the average monthly searches a particular keyword gets as well what the average cost per click for that word is. From the image above, you can see that the word, "chiropractor", gets the most monthly searches but also has the highest cost which is something you need to pay attention to if you are on a budget and don't want to spend lots of money on advertising. Overall, keyword research is important because it can help you get your ad on track and reach the right people.
