Week 12-LinkedIn and certifications

LinkedIn is a free popular social app that is used by employers and employees to interact and connect with others, making it an important app to have. What is cool about LinkedIn is that you can connect with employers and explore all the job opportunities that are listed on LinkedIn. You can search for jobs on LinkedIn and apply directly on the app making it a super easy way to find the perfect job. It is important to make a LinkedIn profile because each year more and more employers are using LinkedIn to find potential job candidates.  

How to make your profile stand out:

-Add images: The first thing I would recommend new users to do is to upload a profile picture and add a description of what job you're looking for and what areas you specialize in. Adding a profile picture is important because you want employers to remember your face and by adding a picture you can make your profile appear more professional. Remember to choose a simple profile picture and nothing too crazy because it will be seen by your future employer. Along with a profile picture, you can even add a cover photo that showcases your interests to give your profile a more unique look

-Add a certification and experience section: The first thing employers will look at when it comes to finding the perfect job candidate are their relevant experiences and certifications. You want to add your current work expereince because most of times, employers want someone with relevant job expereince. Some jobs also require you to have a certification so it is important to add this section to your profile to ensure that you are giving employers all the information they need to consider you a potential candidate. What is nice about LinkedIn is that is super easy to add job experiences and certifications to your profile, and you can change and edit each of these sections any time. What I like about adding a certification section is that you can choose how much information you want to give out and you can even just decide to add the title of the certification without adding a link or the dates. Besides adding these sections to your LinkedIn profile it is also important to add them to your resume because employers will also look at your resume before offering you a job
